History like you were never taught ~ The untold story of the undead oratory!

History is boring.  And so, Why not spice it up a bit?!  Throw in a little zombie attack, pepper it with stretched truths, and toss in a bit of outlandish religious magic, and bang! Now you have some history worth reading about!  (Mind you, there is still some real truth here.)

And if it tickles your fancy, you can purchase a print of the full poster to read on your wall at home here at My Etsy for the poster!

GLN's CD Design

Over the past couple years, I've had the awesome chance to work with the kick ass band The Good Luck Number.  I've been doing gig posters for them, herehere, and here. Now, I'm excited to say that they have a new CD out, and guess who they asked to do the artwork for it?  That's right, Yours Truly!

So, being as the album was to be called "Rambler" we came up with the idea of including a beautiful rambler house.  I then snuck in the second rambler there, the wandering musician. ;)  We went through a couple of different ideas for the front cover, and a few for the CD itself.  I'll post all the variations below so you can see the process, and a few of the ideas.

The poster for the CD release party! Yay!!

They turned out great.  And thanks for the signed copy, boys.

Here's a bit of the process we went through to get the final images.

This was the original sketch of the
house for the front cover. They loved
 it, but I wanted more.
So, I added some color and some details...
Then, we tried another version without the For Sale sign.
This image of the back was a hit from the start,
we just needed some real song titles, of course.  ;P
They liked this first idea for the CD,
but it didn't seem to have enough character...
I brought back the hobo for some character, but
the guys thought he was a bit dirty for their liking.
That's understandable. Hey, I had to try!
So we sat him down and put him into contemplation..
What pray-tell, do you think he's thinking?
Well, it was a fun project,
and I can't wait for the next!
Good luck, guys. You've got my number.

SuperBowl! 2014! Seahawks vs. Broncos!!!

Wow, the year we leave Seattle, and they make it to the Superbowl!  Oh well, C'est la vie!  Well, here is my fan art, and contribution to the excitement!!  Enjoy the fun, y'all!  and be safe!  ;)

Billy's Band of Besties

Space Flyer

Here's an image I just did for the fun of it.  It's a mock show flyer. Maybe an electronic dance party?

Take off your shoes, and unscrew your face, because these beats are sending us to space!  Featuring a dude with bleach blond, spiky hair, playing the classic vinyl mixes, a guy who has a deadly stare, a name with more numbers in it than letters, and a girl who looks like your little sister, but would beat up your girlfriend for a glowstick!

No alcohol, no marijuana, no uppers, no downers, no screamers, laughers, sedatives, whirligigs, fun rides, and especially no harsh moods!  Just good vibes, good times, good friends, and great beats!

$27.52 Entry at the door. 14+ And don't tell anyone where it's at!!

Pay-EE-ssssse!

Father's day treat!

Here we go, a special illustration for a special day!

Guess who got to sit on the couch all day!

Treesville traffic

This is a kawmic I wrote, and sketched out during a bad traffic jam on the way to work the other day.  Traffic in the city is terrible, and if you throw two wrecks in there, going in the same direction, the whole city is an hour late to work!!

AARRGGHH!!  Huh?!

Oh, PS, I did it 8.5"x11" so it's easily printed out at home, and hung on your wall!

Good Luck Number benefit show poster

The Good Luck Number, once more has given me the honors of helping them promote an upcoming show.

I illustrated this lighthearted gig poster with the preschool in mind, being as it is a benefit concert. The logo of the preschool is a simple bee, dragonfly and grasshopper, which I incorporated here, giving them some cute little bodies so they may dance the night away!

Dance O' insects of the night, and enjoy the show!

Good Luck Number poster number 2

Here's another poster for the Good Luck Number.  I'm really enjoying doing these.  There are a lot of posters out there with nice designs, but not too many that tell stories.  I like the idea of bringing more to a poster than just info.  I collect posters, why wouldn't I make something someone else could collect?

First Gig Poster

Well, I've finally done my first rock poster!  Did this for a guy I work with.  The Good Luck Number, good folky rock, think CCR.  Check em' out if you get the chance!  And if you know someone in need of a kick-ass, hand drawn concert poster, send them my way.  I can't wait to do another one!
